We had our old farm truck and 24 ft Eby livestock trailer pulled over by the DOT. Among the violations the officer cited was failure to have lawn mower secured in the trailer. Guess he was afraid it was gona jump out of the trailer? Sounds like the DOT is really cracking down on livestock trailers all over the state of Iowa. Heard of several people from out of state stopped and fined for not having a CDL, DOT#, and log book. A CDL is required for all trucks and trailers with a GVW of over 26001 lbs if you are more the 150 miles from home and a DOT# to cross state lines. You must have a fire extinguisher, warning triangles, truck and trailer must have annual inspection stickers on them even if you are within 150 miles of home is what we were told.
